Australian punter Saverio Rocca has made it in the NFL. Although Rocca's place on the Eagles' roster won't become official until tomorrow, Dirk Johnson, the Eagles' incumbent punter,
comfirmed today that he got cut, meaning the punting job belongs to Rocca.
Rocca had an outstanding preseason, and his presence is yet another signal that the best source of punting talent for American football might be Australia, a country whose version of football requires players to have both powerful kicking legs and the skill required for hang time and directional kicking.
