The Philadelphia Eagles signed their second-round pick, defensive end Victor Abiamiri, to a four-year contract. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The former Notre Dame star has all the physical tools to be a great defensive end and strong pass rusher. He finished his college career with 21½ sacks and 40 tackles for loss. Abiamiri was very highly rated coming out of high school, and he dominated his now-Eagle teammate Winston Justice when they met in 2005. Abiamiri is a raw talent who has had tons of experience against top competition.

Raw talent is a great way to describe Abiamiri. Good potential, but needs a lot of coaching to be anything more than a second-string or platoon player.

Jimmy Johnson will find a way to get the most out of Abiamiri even for 4 or 5 plays per game. When he steps up, Philly will love him.
