Bloom eager to blossom after false start in NFL
Boulder Daily Camera (subscription), CO - Jan 28, 2007
Getting placed on the injured reserve list is usually a worst-case scenario in the NFL. The designation officially ends a player's season and tends to make those on the list disappear from the locker room.

Jeremy Bloom, as the former Colorado standout has proven time and again, isn't your average professional athlete.

After being placed on Philadelphia's IR list due to a hamstring injury before his rookie season with the Eagles even kicked off, Bloom became more involved with team activities — absorbing as much information as he could in meetings, picking the brains of veteran players and studying the wide receiver and special teams positions as if he were an important part of the game plan.

"It was a bit of a unique situation," Bloom said during a recent phone interview. "Normally guys on IR aren't around that much. I took a different approach. I got even more involved."

Re: Jeremy Bloom

Good for Bloom. Just because you can't go physically doesn't mean you need to stop preparing mentally, and from the sound of this article, the kid really took the initiative and did whatever he could to learn the offense and the special teams gameplan. That should really help him coming into next season, don't you think?

I am a big Bloom fan...like to see him become the next Dante Hall...good attitude and 4.4 speed is a nice combination to have.

Cool Re: Jeremy Bloom

Most coaches don't want guys on IR with the team because of the distraction.

What distraction?...If they apply themselves its the same as being one of the guys on the active squad...
