Eagles vs. Panthers

The Week 13 Monday Night Football match-up features a couple of teams that really should have much better records than they do right now. Carolina is just a game over .500 and lost to the REDSKINS of all teams on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Eagles were clobbered by Indy on Sunday night without starting QB Donovan McNabb. McNabb's absence = a Carolina win in this one. What do you think?

Re: Eagles vs. Panthers

I think that the Eagles are so full of self doubt right now that it will be hard for them to win any of their remaining games. Garcia played reasonably well against the Colts but I don't see the Eagles rallying around him. Andy Reid has no personality and I don't think his team does either. I am starting to wonder if he has lost control of the players. Reid was good enough to coach them to the Superbowl but, doggone, he's a stubborn son of a gun and will not get off of his concept of the West Coast Offense. Drives me crazy!

Yeah, I see what you mean. Garcia should have a lot of experience with the West Coast offense, but I have to admit, he played better than I thought last week. Westbrook's the guy for Philly, though. He needs to have a big game for them to stay in it. And the CBs need to shut down Steve Smith.

Cool Re: Eagles vs. Panthers

Home team dogs on Monday night seem to always play well so I wouldn't be shocked if the Eagles found a way to win the game...Plus Carolina is just such a weird team...

Monday night needs a Flex schedule...this game probably sounded great at the begining of the season...Carolina in a blow out...34 to 13

Re: Eagles vs. Panthers

I agree that Westbrook is the key in Monday night's game. He usually is. I'll be curious to see if Andy lets Garcia open up a bit and throw downfield. He said he would. I think you have to throw deep once in a while just to spread the D out. We'll see if our D plays with any more intensity. At this point, I'm just looking for ANYTING positive to build on.

I am not so sure Garcia throws long all that well... the man is built for the dinks and dumps of the West Coast offense...

Re: Eagles vs. Panthers

You're right about Garcia being a dink n dunker but I'd still like to see some 20-40 yard attempts cuz Carolina is going to be sitting on the short stuff. He threw the ball reasonably well against the Colts so you never know.

Gotta agree with you...Carolina will eat him alive if he doesn't try to stretch the field against them...

Re: Eagles vs. Panthers

I am counting on the law of averages tilting in the Bird's favor on turnovers. So many games this year have been decided by that.

Hey, being new, I don't want to go starting new threads as per the site's rules so I'll ask it in this thread. Have any of you been to the Wing Bowl? I have not but I've been listening to it being discussed on Philly radio shows. Cracks me up when the announcers refer to the eaters as athletes. I get such a kick out of this whole thing. I know the DJ's are speaking tongue and cheek when they refer to the eaters as athletes but they make it sound so important and that is what is so hilarious about it. "Wingador, tell me about your trainig schedule." "Well, I ate an entire pizza this morning along with a foot long roast beef hoagie to strecth my stomach for my afternoon work out." Great stuff!
