Eagles middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter is back after 1 1/2 years off and one of the things that he hopes to help the Birds play more with is discipline.
The Eagles were penalized 10 times for a season-high 111 times against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today at Lincoln Financial Field. Take away the penalties and the Eagles may have routed the Bucs by more than a 33-14 margin.
There were unnecessary roughness penalties, holding, offsides, penalties that an aggressive defense might be proned to get.
But not a great defense, which Trotter believes the Eagles are capable of being and is determined to help defensive coordinator Sean McDermott's become as the season progresses.
