Thumbs up Week 1

Well a good win, but tough to lose McNabb. Expect Vick to practice a lot this week but if McNabb is badly hurt then Kolb gets the start ( that scares me just saying it). After that if McNabb still unable to go, it will be Vick leading the way. The D played great, just destroyed Delhomme. After so much wondering in the pre-season they played great.

Re: Week 1

Yeah he is worthless, but my feelings on him are well known ( see any previous post). Thought that the O-line really played well, again after so much pre-season question marks. Celek had a great game at TE, if he can keep building off strong playoff performance then that will be huge.

Yes u r right. Think the fact that we won the battle in the trenches on both sides was the key. Need more of the same next week agst Saints.

Re: Week 1

yeah cause they are hard to judge they put up a ton on offense this week but you got to remember that was the Lions and they gave up a lot of points to so idk with McNabb I'd say we'd torch em but Kolb?????

Re: Week 1

True, Saints D is not going to win games for them. They live and die with Brees. Who was the RB for them??? Never heard of him, thought Thomas was the starter? Need to get pressure on Brees quick I think is key.

Re: Week 1

McNabb hurt... there's a big surprise

Eagles should have kept Feeley over Kolb to begin with... now they are going to have to go out and re-sign him anyway.

Re: Week 1

I don't know I read a report that McNabb might try to play versus the Saints

The Saints put up a ton of offense every week. This was the no.1 offense last year.

Dont underestimate the Saints D. They made some changes and have a new dc. The running back is Pierre Thomas. He was an undrafted free agent in 2007 and led the team in rushing last year.
I asked the question in another thread, were the Eagles D that good or the Panthers offense that bad? Dont crown that defense just yet guys.

Big mistake if he does.

Yeah I know Thomas but it was some guy named Bell who was their big rusher...never heard of him. Saints D is OK....not bad but not great either. Think Eagles D is certainly much better and IMO, is better equipped to at least deal with Brees. I won't say handle him because guy is a damn good QB so you hope for the best. He is going to make plays but if you can contain him and force a turnover or 2 that can make difference. Losing McNabb would hurt Eagles as Kolb sux. They signed Garcia who we all know, or at least those of us from Philly know, can lead this team to a win. Personally I think McNabb plays, but that is just my gut feeling. However I have no problems if Garcia gets start instead, guy can still play.... plus he has a smokin hot wife who it will be nice to see back in the stands!!

Re: Week 1

I don't know why nobody picked up Garcia in the first place but in this case I'm glad he was available. He did a pretty good job when Mcnabb was out with his knee couple years back and he knows the program it couldn't have changed that much. I personally think they should have kept Feeley over Kolb in the first place. Imo Vick isn't ready to step in as a starter he looked awful rusty during preseason. Signing Garcia was a good move.

Re: Week 1

Garcia was with the Raiders as a backup until they released him a few weeks ago.

Thumbs up Re: Week 1

What choice did Raiders have though?? They gave Russell all that money as the #1 pick. Al has made him QB of the franchise, to replace him with Garcia would be suicidal... even for Al. Garcia thinks/believes he is good enough to start int he NFL. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't... I don't know. I do know that he was a damn good back-up for us when we needed him, and after that he played well in TB. Reading Philly papers, it seems like they are going to sit McNabb for the next 2 games, then they have a bye week, so he will get rest for 3 weeks to heal. This week is tough one, next week is a weak KC team. Kolb gets the start this week (God it hurts just to say that) and Garcia will be back-up. After the bye week will be interesting.... if McNabb is back, who gets dropped...Garcia or Kolb?? As hisory shows..Andy Reid is reluctant to drop high round draft picks. Case in point...Baskett got cut despite playing this week, while Reggie Brown ( who was lucky to make the team) stayed even though he did not dress for the game.
