Injury Bug bites Eagles early

Philadelphia Eagles starting middle linebacker Stewart Bradley has suffered a torn ACL and is projected to miss the entire season due to the injury.
Bradley is starting his third year with the Eagles. As the 2007 3rd round draft pick out of the University of Nebraska, Bradley stepped into a starting role during the 2008-09 season with the team where he played in all 18 games including regular season and playoff games.
Omar Gaither looks to be the first possible choice to step into the vacant spot.

Injuries Hit Early For Eagles Training Camp, Stewart Bradley Tears ACL | Bleacher Report

I hate these early injuries. A team's season can be pretty much wiped out before they start playing the regular season.

Say it isn't so!!! I don't like to see any player have a season ending injury. Unfortunatly its part of the game and teams have to play with who they have and hopefully find a way to be successful

There's your answer kk.
Although I do hope the Eagles do well enough except against the Cowboys.

Tough to lose Bradley but they are saying Joe Mays will be starter and Gaither come in on pass downs. Plus this guy Wilhelm they just signed could contribute. Overall Eagles D will be their strength and keep them in games.... now if the O can perform..... Lot of question marks there... starting and ending with #5.

You have that much confidence in the Eagles defense without Jim Johnson??

we have an explosive offense and there are no question marks with McNabb he is a top of the line quarterback

Re: Injury Bug bites Eagles early

Johnson was the coach.. not the one on the field. While he will certainly be missed I don't think the D will miss a step. The players know what they are doing. As I said the Eagles areas of concern are #5, #36 and the O-line.

If you are talking healthwise, they are both at question.
If they are both healthy, and McNabb has targets and Westbrook gets a bit of blocking, there is no question about either of them.

I beg to differ. McNabb is a great QB.. no denying that... but he has not been able to get this team over the "big game hump". Sorry but it's true. If you want to argue its Reid's play calling I would agree with that as well. But until McNabb takes us all the way all people are going to look at is 1-4 in the NFC Championship games and 0-1 in the SB. Sorry but that's the truth. I personally like McNabb, he is arguably the best QB we have ever had. But like Fran Tarkinton or Jim Kelly he is going to be judged on how he performs in the big games... and he has come up short. Elway had the same rep until he finally won it. As far as Westbrook, it is starting to feel like he is tipping over the top now. Maybe he has one more good year left in him, but he has taken such a pounding in his career, I am glad they got McCoy (even if he did go to school in Sh*ttsburgh). Hopefully this will be our year.

Maybe. I just think that while Johnson was the designer of that D, it was time to refine it and the new guy is bright and will bring his own views to it. The word out of camp is the D is just flying all over the field with lots of good hitting. I think they will be motivated to play well this year. Remember, they were embarassed by Arizona in the NFC Championship.. they will want some revenge and another shot at a title.
