Let's face it folks - Eagles games sell out like hotcakes, and while you could try to contact the team by phone at 888-332-CLUB (2582) or 215-463-5500, the results will most likely be disappointing. History of Eagles Playoff Tickets So what makes Eagles playoff tickets so darn special? Part of it is the atmosphere of NFL postseason action, but mostly, it's because the Philadelphia franchise has such an illustrious history of playoff success -- a history that continues to this day. The first time the Eagles made the playoffs was back in 1947, as the team finished 8-4 and finished in first place in the pre-merger NFL East. They would play for the league title that year, losing to the Chicago Cardinals in a hard-fought game. The following season, Philly again won the Eastern Division and again played the Cardinals in the NFL Championship game. This time, however, the outcome would be different, as the Eagles won the first of back-to-back league titles. Philadelphia would go on to win a third championship before the AFL-NFL merger, claiming victory over the Green Bay Packers in the 1960 title tilt, and would make their first post-merger playoff appearance in 1978. That season they qualified for and lost in the Wild Card round, marking the first of four straight playoff seasons that included a trip to Super Bowl XV following the 1980 season. Those early Eagle teams definitely set the standard, and thankfully for Philadelphia football fans, the team continues to live up to those expectations year by challenging for a playoff berth year in and year out.
