While I haven't heard/read anything substantial, this is simply a rumor thread. For years now, AI has been rumored to be on the trade block and at times was supposedly about to be dealt by Sixers GM Billy King.

Is this the season?

I sure think so. Sure Philly has some nice young players, most notable Andre Iguadola, but c'mon, it's time to turn the page. Of course they won't get equal value, but it's time to get something in return and start rebuilding. Their window to win with the classy player closed...I wonder if they realize this.

Allen Iverson has been known as a bad boy of the NBA, but also one of the best dribblers in the league. I am not sure where his possible destination would be but I know that some teams are turned off by his attitude and behavior. The last thing they need is more corruptions and disturbtions in their organization.

i would trade 1/2 of the Celtics to have him here, including Pierce

AI is a great player and he has developed into a real team player actually making assits now

with him and a good 7 footer most any team could regularly make the play-offs at the least

which is more then the Celts can say

he is like a Scottie Pipen

im not saying he is as good, my point is he would be a great compliment to a #1 guy like Pipen was to Jordan

Interesting comparison. Pierce though has more skills than Pippen but when you look at the facts, he had his great success when playing alongside Antoine Walker.

i like Walker better then Pierce and was glad for him when he got his ring

i dont think they got along very well

Hey, glad to hear it, guys. Back when this forum opened, I spend weeks trying to convince Gotham that Pierce was overrated, and unworthy of being called an "All-Time Celtic Great". Nice to see that I'm no longer the only one around here who shares that opinion! But back on topic - the A.I. trade rumors. I think it'd be a mistake for Boston to go after him at this point, when there's an obivous youth movement going on with the Celtics. A.I. just doesn't fit with what they're trying to accomplish.

are you kidding me...paul pierce is an excellant basketball player..in the top 10 in the NBA. Over the past five seasons, he has averaged around 25 ppg, 5 assists, and as a SF/SG he has led his team in rebounds the last two years. Also, AI is complaining about the team around him...look at Pierce he has nobody around him, i believe that Wally is overrated and needs to be traded away for a quality pg or center, and yet Pierce stilll hasnt complained and has worked to develop young players such as gerald green. I also agree with not taking AI, the celtics dont need an 11-year veteran who is too lazy to practice...we need to trade for a good pg and get rid of wally..also ryan gomes is emerging as a star..so the celtics may be on their way if green continues to develop and they find a good pg, not allen iverson
