Scirrotto declares himself ready for showdown

Penn State safety Anthony Scirrotto, who suffered a mild concussion in the second quarter of Saturday's win over Michigan and did not return, said he plans to play Saturday in the Nittany Lions' (No. 3 BCS) Big Ten showdown at No. 9 Ohio State.
"I'm getting better day by day and feeling great," Scirrotto said at the team's weekly media conference Tuesday. "I'll be ready."
The senior from West Deptford, N.J., said he was practicing and working out, and had undergone tests, both physical and written, for doctors Tuesday morning. He officially is listed as questionable.
"I've got my fingers crossed" that Scirrotto will be cleared to play, coach Joe Paterno said Tuesday
