Joe Paterno's Replacement

Who ever replaces legendary coach Joe Paterno will have some big shoes to fill. Penn State is a special place and Joe Paterno makes it that way.
His replacement will not only have to know football, but will also have to know how to work with people and the community.
Here are 5 possible candidates that would make sense for the Nittany Lions:
  1. Bill Cowher (Former Pittsburgh Steelers HC)
  2. Tom Bradley (DC Penn State)
  3. Greg Schiano (Rutgers head coach)
  4. Gregg Williams (DC Jacksonville Jaguars)
  5. Kirk Ferentz (Iowa HC)

Any opinions for or against for any of these names?

Lefty Noob is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Joe Paterno's Replacement

Schiano's name has come up more than once. It's an interesting theory, but I think they'll probably hire from within (Tom Bradley).

Bill Cowher's name kind of intrigues me. Would he ever consider coaching anywhere else but the NFL?
I really dont think his personality will work though. He's not exactly what I'd call people friendly.

I can't see Cowher going to Penn State. He was born in Pa. but lives in Carolina and went to NC State.
If he ever does coach in college, it'll probably be with the Wolfpack, I would think. Ultimately, though, I think he'll go stick with the NFL.
