To honor the long standing tradition of academic and athletic success by Penn State student-athletes, the Penn State All-Sports Museum will unveil its new Academic All-American exhibit in time for Blue-White Weekend Presented by PHEAA.
Located in the museum’s lobby, the Academic All-American wall will honor scholar athletes from all 29 of Penn State’s varsity sports and will give recognition to all those who have achieved this special recogntion.
Also, stay tuned for Penn State “On Air.” Opening August 31, this new interactive exhibit will feature the media professionals who have covered Penn State sports through the years. Come learn about your favorite journalists and hear your favorite broadcasters calling moments from games past.
The museum has made recent additions to the men’s basketball and men’s soccer exhibits. The basketball used during the Nittany Lions’ record-breaking 129-111 victory over the Virginia Military Institute on December 30, 2006 is on display. The 129 points was the highest score ever recorded by the men’s basketball team. In addition, a game ball, jersey and official scorebook from the Nittany Lions’ historic 66-65 win over No. 6 Illinois during the 2005-06 season is on display. The win snapped a 33-game home winning streak for the Illini and marked the highest ranked foe Penn State has defeated on the road.
