Scott's arrival to Penn State three years ago was heralded with lots of hype and loads of expectations, evidenced by the huge crowd he drew during media day way back in 2004.
But injuries and off-the-field distractions stalled the Parkland High School grad's promising career long before it had a chance to really begin. Scott, who showed glimpses of talent during the Orange Bowl victory over Florida State in 2006 when he replaced an injured Tony Hunt and rushed for 110 yards, was really just a backup.
And last year, Scott sat out the entire season as a redshirt, basically becoming an insurance policy if Hunt got injured, and this fall's potential starter if Hunt stayed healthy.
Hunt stayed healthy, and as he prepares for the NFL Draft next month, the ball returns to Scott's hands this fall.
And like before, big things are expected.
