| Brown & Posluszny Added to Lombardi Watch List Two of Penn State's finest have been added to the watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award, presented by Wachovia Bank, which is given out annually to honor the NCAA's best lineman or linebacker.
First is outside linebacker Paul Posluszny, one of four finalists for the 2005 Rotary Lombardi Award and the 12th linebacker to earn first team All-America honors during the Paterno era. Posluszny has 256 career tackles and is tied with Trey Bauer for eighth place in PSU history.
The other candidate is offensive tackle Levi Brown, who deserves a lot of the credit for the Lions improved offensive performance in 2005. He was part of a line that surrendered just 14 sacks and helped open the hole that made Penn State the second-best running team in the Big Ten (233.1 yards per game).
I certainly think Posluszny has a great chance of winning this award. He's the real deal. |
