Jamelle Cornley - Big Ten Freshman of the Year

Penn State's Jamelle Cornley has become the first Nittany Lion ever to win Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors, as the conference coaches and the media named him the recipient of the award on March 7. Cornley was the team's third-leading scorer with a 11.5 points per game average, and was second on the squad with 5.4 rebounds per contest. As long as this kid stays around, it looks like PSU will be a force to be reckoned with during the 2006-07 season!

A force to be reckoned with? Let's see them make the field of 64 first.
But I am in total agreement on Cornley, I saw him play a couple games in Columbus while he was at Brookhaven high school. I was kind of surprised to see Thad Matta did not recruit Cornley, but with next years upcoming class can anyone really fault Matta?
Anyone know why he decided to attend the college basketball wasteland that is Penn State?
