Congratulations to the Penn State basketball team for making the NIT tournament. Last postseason appearance was in 2001 so unlike many schools who look at the NIT as a negative, the Nittany Lions clearly see this as a big positive.

Game against Rutgers at 8pm eastern tonight in the Bryce Jordan Center. Go Penn State Basketball!

Not the best year for them, at 15-14 and 6-10 in the Big Ten, but making the NIT and winning more than 10 games for the first time since 2001 is something coach Ed DeChellis and his kids can really hang their hat on.

They have a good chance of making a run, too, what with senior forward Travis Parker and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jamelle Cornley. Don't be surprised if they pull off a few big wins.
