For Derek Moye, his college choice was all about location, location, location.
Moye, star football player at Rochester High School, had narrowed his list of schools to Penn State and Pitt. He announced his decision yesterday and the reason he made a verbal commitment to Penn State was its surroundings.
"From a football standpoint, both programs match up pretty equally," Moye said. "I made the decision more on the campus. Penn State is more laid back. That fits my personality more because I'm kind of shy. I don't think I'd fit too well in the city."
Moye (6 feet 5, 190 pounds) was one of the top players in Western Pennsylvania this season, playing running back, receiver and defensive back. He was recruited by colleges to play receiver.
"Penn State said they don't plan on redshirting me," Moye said.
