Michigan Wolverines @ PSU Nittany Lions

Look, I like Penn State as much as the next guy. JoePa's a class act, and they have a bunch of talented players. They're fresh off a big win over Minnesota and are unbeaten at home so far this season. That said, Michigan is absolutely going to demolish these guys. Sorry, PSU fans, but you know I speak the truth. If the margin of victory is under 21 points, I'll be surprised. What do you think?

I really hope that is the outcome, but with what happened last year, I think it will be a close game. Michigan will win, but not by 21.

Re: Michigan Wolverines @ PSU Nittany Lions

With all due respect, last year was last year. Both teams are vastly different this year. Penn State's lost a lot of talent, and while their offense is starting to come together, they still don't have a Michael Robinson. I just don't see where they can score consistantly on that Wolverine defense.

Re: Michigan Wolverines @ PSU Nittany Lions

Looks like things are going to be a little tougher for Michigan on Saturday. According to local radio, Mario Manningham will not play against PSU due to a knee injury he suffered during the MSU game.

If Manningham does indeed miss the game, that'd be a huge blow to the UM offense. Who would replace him in the lineup?

Re: Michigan Wolverines @ PSU Nittany Lions

Obviously Breaston and Arrington are going to need to have big games. U of M still has plenty of receivers to fall back on, such as Carl Tabb and freshman Greg Mathews. Here is the game everyone knew was going to come where Mich would finally feel the effect of the injury to Antonio Bass this off season. With all that said, if the defense shows up and we control the clock with our running game, we should still come out on top.

I am going on a hunch with the upset here.

Penn State 22
Michigan 21

A Penn State upset? I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility, but I'd have to say its might unlikely. What makes you think that? Is it the loss of Manningham ? The improvement of the Nittany Lions offense? Or just a gut feeling?

Penn State is better than most people think and they are at home. Penn State needs this game to have a shot at a good bowl game and Michigan has not won a big road game yet. I always pick an upset or two every week and it comes from what I like to call an educated hunch!

Another member picking the PSU upset? Welcome to GoTeamsGo, relyt, and thanks for joining us here at the forums. So why do think the Lions will pull this one out. Is it the home field advantage, the loss of Manningham, or some other strength or weakness you see with one of the teams?

I don't know, but I see a defense-dominated, low-scoring game -- especially with Manningham out. It might even be close!

Good call, Dan. It's currently 10-3 Michigan late in the third.

Scratch that. Mike Hart and the Wolverines just punched it in again. UM 17, Penn State 7.
