Ottawa Senators winning streak

The Ottawa Senators have set a team record by winning their 8th straight game yesterday, beating Toronto 5-1. They've also set an NHL record with the best start in league history, going 13-1 in 14 games and earning 26 points. Just how good is this club?

NHL - Toronto Maple Leafs/Ottawa Senators Recap Tuesday November 6, 2007 - Yahoo! Sports

Re: Ottawa Senators winning streak

I think mediocre at best.
Haha.
Rub it in, Lefty - last night's win was a win over the Leafs.

Re: Ottawa Senators winning streak

it's a cold sad world in leaf town today.
we've taken to cheering when they actually get a shot on net.
The Sens have amazing goaltending and for that most of all I am jealous. They took way more penalties than us (11 to leafs' 6), yet it never affected the scoreboard.
they also have heatley, Alfredsson, fisher - snipers. But they are all defensive players too - they were all over us at times, like bloodsuckers on toes in a murky swamp.
yeah, that's it. Bloodsuckers.

Re: Ottawa Senators winning streak

Leafs fought and lost and struggled and won and hung in and didn't make it into the post season based on the last game pre to the playoffs, a game they had to watch on tv.
we all suffer, GDK, we all have pain. It's hockey - it's inevitable.

Amen - let's not even get into the post-Lemieux, pre-Crosby era for my Penguins. That was brutal.

Yeah, but Sports Illustrated picked us dead last this year! That is just insulting...and we are not gonna take it!

Re: Ottawa Senators winning streak

woohoo they lost. and to Washington.
4-1. Emery takes the loss.
Would have been even better if they had been held scoreless.
Scratch that - would have been better if Leafs had been able to beat them.

Re: Ottawa Senators winning streak

Typical. This always happens. No sooner do we post one of these winning streak threads, then the team turns around and loses.
