| Ottawa fires John Muckler OTTAWA (AP) -John Muckler was keeping quiet Sunday amid reports he'd been fired as the Ottawa Senators' general manager. "I cannot talk at this time," Muckler said when reached by The Canadian Press. A Senators spokesman also refused to comment. Sun Media reported Saturday night that the 73-year-old Muckler had been fired, with an announcement of his departure expected as early as Sunday. There's also speculation Bryan Murray, whose contract as head coach expires June 30, could be promoted to general manager. | Re: Ottawa fires John Muckler It's always easier to fire one person, than several. As in many cases, it becomes the lesser of two evils. Ottawa should really be proud of their season, even if they did self-destruct in the championship. Murray certainly has the chops to build an even stronger team. Let's not discredit the team he put together at Anaheim. |

| Re: Ottawa fires John Muckler There is talk now Toronto is discussing some deal with Muckler, for him to be consultant to ferguson. Apparently Scottie Bowman didn't want the job. How do i go from not loving Muckler to loving Muckler? |

| Re: Ottawa fires John Muckler I haven't heard that rumor circulate here in the states yet. Can't wait to see how that all plays out. Ottawa may be happy to see him "consulting" Ferguson. Last edited by Lefty Noob : 06-24-2007 at 09:47 AM. Reason: please limit promotional links to your signature |
