too soft?

ok so i didnt see the entire game saturday but i saw the cheap (yes, ill say cheap because no matter what team it is, that was awful) hit pronger dished out
another puny 1-game suspension
which means he will still be playing in this series
now remember that he had a similar suspension last series when he hit thomas holmstrom
its the second time, so do u think there should have ben a harsher penalty?
because obviously pronger isnt getting the point
and im not sticking up for ottawa, but im just saying that a cheap blow to the head deserves more than 1 game
does anyone else feel the same way?

Re: too soft?

Well, I didn't see it, but a one game suspension in the Cup Finals is a huge deal, really. Pronger's absence could be responsible for this being a tied series. I'm not a huge fan of taking great players out of the picture come playoff time, so I think the punishment is fitting.

Re: too soft?

There's an interview with neil re all this pronger stuff that just makes me want to peel my skin off.
Pronger steps it up, sometimes too much, yes- he is huge and he is strong and he can make the wrong choice.
But to have neil speak like he's clean and pronger is dirty - AHHHHHHHHH!!!
Neil says things like:
"I don't go out and stab a guy in the back after the whistle like pronger does..."
and
"He's been suspended fort a numerous amount of games....I haven't. So figure it out."
You know what? that means nothing to me. After the game last night and seeing Alfredsson's shot at niedermayer (see next thread) and not getting called on it? refs are blind AND stupid.

Your comparing Neil to Pronger ?? ALOTE of players in the NHL are clean compared to Pronger. C`mon man.. do you even watch the season games?

The Ducks were the most penalized team in the NHL. Do you really think the refs would`ve called all the penalties they made in the Series ? Hell no, they would always be in the sin bin. So the refs had to even out calls by not calling some Senators wrong doings.

Re: too soft?

Not defending pronger. i will say neil gets away with questionable calls.
And in my defence, i watch hockey from beginning of the season to the end.
