He kicks it in - we watched the play over and over and over again.
Ottawa wins 5-3 on a crappy kicked in goal by Daniel I-kicked-it-in-And-Then Pretended-I-Didn't Alfredsson.
Crappy. Yeah the final was 5-3 , but that goal should have been thrown out and then let's see what the game would have been
very iffy
i saw it only once on the highlights
not a great goal at all to be counted
its like ottawa to get lucky breaks, isnt it?

Dany Heatley ends scoring drought with goal in Senators loss

OTTAWA (CP) - Any relief Dany Heatley felt after ending his scoring drought was shortlived.

The Ottawa Senators sniper finally collected his first point in the Stanley Cup final with a big goal in the second period Monday night. But Heatley couldn't enjoy it much after a 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks left the Senators facing a 3-1 series deficit heading back to California for Game 5 Wednesday night.

"At this point it's irrelevant, we lost the game," said Heatley. "Whether you're scoring or you're not, it's all about winning and losing."

Stanley Cup in the building Wednesday night as Ducks attempt to polish off the Senato

ANAHEIM, Calif. (CP) - There will be a special guest in the building Wednesday night. But the Anaheim Ducks will try to ignore him until the buzzer sounds.

Lord Stanley's silver mug will be at the Honda Center as the Ducks attempt to capture California's first-ever NHL championship with a Game 5 victory over the Ottawa Senators (8 p.m. ET).

"I'm sure the guys will be very excited and enthusiastic tomorrow but we have to make sure we just play our game and not get distracted by everything around us," Ducks netminder J.S. Giguere said on the eve of what could be the last game of the 2006-07 season.

Hockey News isn't a person, blazinsabrez, it's a tool that gives up news headlines with which to start threads. Sorry for the confusion!

I think that's what always bugged me about Hockey News - no personality, just the facts.
especially when i go to break a story, and Hockey News got there first, and i can't even yell at him/her/it.

How come the Ducks are named after a Disney Movie?

Re: Senators vs. Ducks - Stanley Cup Finals

because Disney used to own them. when they sold them they told the new owners,
you can't call them the mighty ducks.
so they became the ducks.

They sold them with only part of the name? That's too funny! Hope they got a discounted price for that. Or maybe the price was too high and they said, "Hey, what if we only take part of the name? Would you give us a discounted price." LOL. I bet that is what happened. Too funny. They sold half the name. Thanks.

Well, see, Disney sold the team but they obviously wouldn't sell the naming rights to the movie franchise. Hence the name change.

Senators season ends in disappointment after five-game Stanley Cup loss

ANAHEIM, Calif. (CP) - Jason Spezza, Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson entered the Stanley Cup final as the hottest line in hockey.

They played most of their last game of the season on three separate units. "It's indicative of how we played as a line in the final," a teary-eyed Spezza said moments after his season ended Wednesday night. "We couldn't get anything going. We have to be the offensive catalysts and we might have got caught up in the talk that we had to dominate offensively. We just didn't produce as a line."

Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson still finished 1-2-3 in playoff scoring with 22 points apiece. But Spezza and Heatley, in particular, had a final to forget, looking little like the dynamic duo that terrorized Pittsburgh, New Jersey and Buffalo in the first three rounds.

"I don't think we played as well as we could," said Heatley, limited to one goal in the five games. "It's frustrating and disappointing. Especially offensively, we're better than that, we can create more than we did. I don't know what to say more than that."

No, apparently you aren't, and no, apparently you can't. Way to lose graciously, Heatley!
