Euro 2008

any thoughts on who will lift the European cup this year?
i personally have had a bet on Poland, an outside chance @ 53/1
you cant ignore those odds.

Re: Euro 2008

If you're 53/1 odds to win, then you are NOT the favorite... or even close!

How can you not pick the defending World Cup champs, Italy? Or France? They are in the same group so you might actually see them play twice in the tournament which is usually not the case. Germany and Czech Republic are strong teams and my darkhorse has to be Spain.

I'm looking forward to the games, myself.

(Sorry about carrying on in the "football" forum but to some, soccer IS football!)

True, Gnome, but I moved this thread to a more suitable home anyway.
I don't follow Euro too much, so I really can't predict myself. Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter?

Re: Euro 2008

i would go for Spain because i think Torres and Cesc can be very good (semi finals at most)
Italy i don't think will take it this year (semi's/final)
France will go far but not win it (semi's)
Greece could surprise everyone again but i don't think will win it (quarter finals/semi's)
The Netherlands could do well but i don't think they will get out of their group

as for the rest Portugal could go to the last 8
Sweden, Switzerland and Russia could do ok in the group stages

but i would think that this years most disappointing team with be Croatia based on their long list of injuries
