LONDON (AFP) - Liverpool have apologised to Premiership rivals Manchester United for the behaviour of their fans during last month's FA Cup tie at Anfield.
Merseyside Police and the club have carried out an investigation after United fans were attacked by home supporters who pelted them with human excrement, coins and food.
Liverpool stadium and operations manager Ged Poynton has written to United admitting standards of behaviour had "fallen short" of that expected.
Poynton added in the News of the World: "We hold our hands up as a club. We deplore what certain fans have done.
Gee, and I thought Philadephia had rowdy fans
....so anyone know worse fans then the one's at Liverpool?
