More drag racing coverage moving into TV's prime time

More of ESPN2's coverage of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series this season will include final eliminations in prime time, the network says.
Of the 24 events this season, 18 are scheduled for Sunday night viewing times.
In its ninth straight season of coverage, ESPN2's season begins Feb. 7-8 with the 49th annual Kragen O'Reilly NHRA Winternationals from Pomona, Calif. Qualifying and finals rounds are scheduled to run from all 24 events and expanded coverage is set in connection with drag racing's biggest event, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.
The final six events in the NHRA's Countdown to the Championship, are to run in the 7-10 p.m. time slot on Sunday nights.
"We're looking forward to getting the season started at Pomona," said Shawn Murphy, ESPN senior coordinating producer who oversees the NHRA production. "Our team has been working together for several years now and all of us are ready to go."
ESPN2's drag racing coverage team includes broadcast veteran Paul Page and Mike Dunn, a 22-time winner in NHRA competition. Gary Gerould and Dave Rieff return as pit reporters for the full season, while John Kernan is expected to be added for the final seven events.

Luckily my GF is a drag racing fan, so we can enjoy it together! We even go the races together, when we can go!

Hold on to that woman Phils. She's a keeper. I think I'll try and tune into some of that. Many moons ago we used to have a strip not far from where I live now. Long gone now. They're building Condo's there now. No real skill in drags. They don't have to turn left in competition !!!

We have two Strips within about an hour of my house for locals, plus Englistown and MAple Grove are both an easy drive for me.

BTW, here is my Buds 9 second Pinto Station Wagon!
