| Save Nashville Speedway Save Nashville Speedway - Save Nashville Speedway - SaveNashvilleSpeedway.com the Tennessee State Fairgrounds and Nashville Speedway are in danger of being "redeveloped". An organization started by someone who moved to a neighborhood near the track is trying to get the city to "move" the Tennessee State Fairgrounds and Nashville Speedway race track, an impractical proposition at best. We need to put as much effort into saving the Tennessee State Fairgrounds and Nahville Speedway as we did into saving the Nashville Predators hockey team. While currently known as Music City Motorplex, this historic speedway has had many names in the past: Nashville Motor Raceway, Nashville Speedway USA, Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville, and several others. No matter what it's called, this historic track deserves to be saved. It has been the starting place for NASCAR champions and is still one of the premier short tracks in the United States. According to the 12/16/07 Tennessean, public meetings will be held in January by the consultant hired by the Fair Board to determine the future of the facility. In light of that, we've created a petition that you can sign and that will be presented to the consultant and to the Tennessee State Fair board. If you feel the loss of this facility is something that should be prevented, please sign the petition.
