Mika Kallio ended the opening 250cc world championship test of the winter in fine form as he set the pace at a rain-interrupted two days at Jerez.
With rain having washed out the second of three days and only a handful of riders daring to brave the conditions, the running were condensed into two days, and even those was held in damp conditions.
Not that it mattered to two-time race-winner Kallio though, as the 25-year-old Finn lapped the circuit in 1:44.213 to knock his KTM team-mate
Hiroshi Aoyama, the day one pace-setter, off the top of the timesheets by just over a tenth of a second.
