Former Indy Driver Walther Sentenced

ESPN - Ex-Indy driver Walther sentenced for police chase - Open-Wheel

XENIA, Ohio -- Former Indianapolis 500 driver David D. "Salt" Walther was sentenced to three years in prison for leading police on a chase at speeds of up 100 mph.

Greene County Common Pleas Court Judge Stephen Wolaver sentenced the 59-year-old Walther on Wednesday after a jury convicted him of failing to comply with an order or signal of a police officer after a two-day trial.

these writers at ESPN need to read what they write: the way this reads Walther had to sit thru a 2 day trial and then failed to comply with a police officer's order.

Assistant Greene County Prosecutor David Hayes said Walther led police departments in the Dayton suburbs of Beavercreek and Centerville on a chase in July. A message seeking comment was left for defense attorney Charles Bursey.

I got a kick out of the fact Salt led the police departments on a chase. I wonder if the secretaries and the janitor used their own cars in the chase or if they car pooled?

Just reading that Salt was a 59-year old made me feel old.
