| Magic defeated in OT again It was another of those heart stopping, heart breaking games for the Magic and their fans as they lost Game 4 to the Lakers in OT, 99-91. Penalties killed the Lakers in the first half, and turnovers hurt the Magic all night. At the half, the Lakers were only 1-10 in the three point range. They cured that in the second half. After the half, the Magic came out flat, picked up speed a bit but werent able to recover what they had in the first. They lost the lead they held most of the first half in the third quarter and never really held it very strong again. It was a defensive battle for both teams, as neither team was able to duplicate their offensive shooting of Game 3. Howard was great, 16 points, 21 rebounds and a NBA Finals record of nine blocks. He wasnt so great at the free throw line, being 6 out of 14. Those missed points cost the Magic. Lewis Rashard was non-existent. Turk was his usual playmaking self. Bryant had 32 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Derek Fisher was the hero, he had 2 key 3 pointers. One was with 4.6 seconds left in regulation time, and the other with 31.3 in OT. There are still games to be played, but no team has ever recovered from a 3-1 record and gone on to win it all. I really believe that playoff experience has been a big help to the Lakers. Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher are both old hands at it. Tempers flared and things got out of hand a time or two. Except for Kobe, he knew what he was doing. Give Howard some more experience, and he will too.
