Howard a true leader Quote:
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard said that he has noticed the wear and tear that comes with being a team's go-to scorer this season. In his first three seasons in the NBA, Howard was mostly a complementary player on the offensive end of the floor and placed most of his focus on rebounding.
But now that Howard's game has improved and he is the Magic's leading scorer, he feels the weight of being looked to on a nightly basis to carry the offense.
"I feel it every night, but I want it on my shoulders," said Howard, the Eastern Conference's Player of the Month for November and December. "I don't want my teammates feeling pressure, put it on me. I want those guys playing as loose as they can. I know every night people are looking up to me to do great things. A lot of nights whether we lose or win, it depends on what I do."
