Grant Hill staying with Magic?

The new Magic coach also said he’d be sitting down for the first time this week with Grant Hill. Hill is a free agent, though he hasn’t indicated yet whether he’ll return for another NBA season or retire.

"I would love to have Grant back,” Van Gundy said. “But Grant has the major part of that decision. I've talked to him on the phone at length and this week will get a chance to sit down with him face-to-face. But he knows that I'd like to have him back. It's got to fit with what he wants to do and it's got to fit with the goals of the organization both short term and long term. We'll just have to see how it works out."

Van Gundy Close to Finalizing Coaching Staff

I have to think Hill's going to hang them up pretty soon, with all he's been through during his career.

This is true, but I read somewhere lately that Hill wants out of O-Town to play for a championship contender. Not sure there will be any takers, given his history of injuries...

Depends what his contract demands are. If he really wants to win a title, I'm sure the Spurs would sign him for league minimum, you know?

This is true. He'll be 35 soon, so at this stage in his career he probably just wants a ring, and doesn't want to wait a couple years w/the Magic to get it (yes, I'm optimistic to a fault sometimes )...

If not Phoenix, why not San Antonio? He needs to go where he can get a ring.
