Rodgers brothers power Oregon State past Portland State
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Rodgers brothers are back for Oregon State.
Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 103 yards and three touchdowns while big brother James caught a pair of passes for 95 yards and a score to lead the Beavers to a 34-7 victory over Portland State in the opener for both teams on Saturday.
Jacquizz, last season's Pac-10 offensive player of the year, missed Oregon State's final two games because of a shoulder injury. He had surgery in the offseason.
His brother broke his collarbone and missed Oregon State's Sun Bowl victory over Pittsburgh.
With both brothers key to Oregon State's success this season, they combined for 253 yards of offense against the Big Sky Conference Vikings.
