Oregon quarterback Nate Costa, who injured his surgically repaired left knee in practice last Wednesday, will have surgery to repair cartilage damage in the knee and will miss at least 8-10 weeks.
It is not yet known whether Costa sustained any damage to the anterior cruciate or medial collateral ligaments - doctors will assess that during the surgery. No date has been set yet.
Eight weeks from now, the Ducks will be entering game week for Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz. In 10 weeks, they will be preparing for a home game against Stanford - the third-to-last game of the season.
Oregon coach Mike Bellotti also announced that suspended linebacker Kevin Garrett has been dismissed from the team.
