| Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 Tenth-ranked Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 EUGENE, Ore. -- Jeremiah Masoli threw for 222 yards and a touchdown and ran for 164 more yards with another score and No. 10 Oregon ran past No. 4 Southern California 47-20 Saturday night, the Trojans' worst loss since 1997. Redshirt freshman LaMichael James ran for 183 yards and a score as the Ducks (7-1, 5-0 Pacific-10) racked up 391 yards on the ground against the Trojans, who came into the game with the fifth-best rush defense in the nation, allowing an average of just 79.9 yards a game. Southern California (6-2, 3-2) had not lost a game by more than a touchdown since a 27-16 loss to Notre Dame in 2001, Pete Carroll's first season as Trojans coach. It was USC's worst lost since a 35-7 defeat to Arizona State on Oct. 11, 1997 and the most points allowed by the Trojans in Carroll's tenure. Oregon remained alone in first and undefeated in the Pac-10, threatening USC's hold on the league championship for the past seven years. | Re: Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 lsu,tcu , cinn. ,ark. missouri, boise st. ,miami, miss. , some of the teams they played are very low ranked now look at cal. when you lose to an unranked team and a team that had no wins last year. i think washinton should be ranked above them. usc ,cal. ohio st. has been over ranked for years. your own az. teams are better than usc. these teams have a lot of media hype.you have several teams that are flying under the radar this year. the bcs is a load of crap it should be use only to seat teams in a play off top 48 teams lets make it fair. the conf. games could be the first step the top 2 teams in each conf. play and the winner goes on from there. just thinking out loud. another thing if you play a weak team like mtsu, troy or small school the teams should lose points in the bcs type ranking. the fact is pac -10 teams are getting stronger big schools have same amount of free rides as the smaller schools now. thats why teams that no one has heard about 10 years age are around now. remember when bosie surprized okla. |

| Re: Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 i sorry i disagree with you .miss. was ranked as high as 4th in the polls and now you say they should be in the top 25. how about ark. i think their qb is one of the best. usc beat ohio st. and lost to washington then beat cal. and nd and shot back up to number 5 again look where cal. and over ranked ohio st. is. sec is a tough conf. the way tennessee has played the last 3 weeks should rank them over usc. even after losing 4 yes they lost to ucla, auburn, and 2 no.1 teams by a total of 12 points has usc faced a number 1 team yet. no just a over ranked nd, ohio st, cal, unranked washington team and a top 4 duck team. which is where i would rank them. |

| Re: Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 Quote:
USC has played 4 ranked teams so far, all 4 on the road. They won 3 of those games. How many teams have beat 3 ranked teams? Of the very few you can find, how many of them did that on the road? Your logic is severely flawed. |

| Re: Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 I watched this game - it was fun, especially at the end, they announced "no rushing the field until 5:00 after the game is over for the safety of players, etc." Everyone rushed the field of course, within 20 seconds. They couldn't stop all the people. It was fun to watch, I had great seats, and the ducks rushed for almost 400 yards, and had a big return in the first quarter - almost for a TD. |

| Re: Ducks hand Trojans worst loss since '97 where are those teams now are they still ranked? usc is a a over ranked team and would not last in the sec vandy might even beat them.... national champs will be a sec team again this year. unless another sec team knocks another sec team out and the screwed up bcs system pulls something .... reguardless i do respect your opinion they are some better teams now in the pac-10 .usc is no longer cock of the walk.. everyone wants to be a sec team. the duck could have really made usc look bad but they let up on them i don't think usc would have returned the favor.... |
