| Nutt receives royal welcome from Rebel fans OXFORD — Presented this afternoon as the new Ole Miss football coach, Houston Nutt stood in front of a throng of excited fans and said the Rebels had everything necessary to build a winning program. “The one thing I love about Ole Miss is the tradition and that’s why I’m here,” Nutt said. “I feel like this place can be successful. I feel like this place can win. I can’t wait to tell (the players) that the way you spell fun is w-i-n.” The packed house at the 1,500-seat Gertrude Ford Center on the Ole Miss campus gave Nutt a 30-second standing ovation when he walked to the podium. Staring out at the crowd, Nutt grinned and said “I really love this auditorium. People are everywhere.” About 500 fans were turned away after seating ran out. Nutt said his first priority was meeting with his players this afternoon, then assembling his coaching staff and getting a handle on recruiting over the next few weeks. Full Story
