Houston Nutt: New Ole Miss Head Coach

OXFORD, Miss. -- University of Mississippi Athletics Director Pete Boone confirmed Tuesday morning that he has reached an agreement with former University of Arkansas head football coach Houston Nutt to become the 36th head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Ole Miss position became available after three-year head coach Ed Orgeron was notified last Saturday that he would not be retained.

Good hire, but they had to pay for him. Nutt will make $1.7 million during his first season, and will earn $2 million per by the fourth year.

He will turn the Ole Miss program around sooner than later. He has the same areas to recruit from and can almost promise incoming freshmen playing time their first year.
