OXFORD — Most of Ole Miss receiver Mike Wallace was thrilled for close friend and teammate Marshay Green, who returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown against LSU last Saturday.
But there was a tiny, mischievous side of Wallace that was slightly disappointed. That's because now he would have to stop teasing Green about his aversion to the end zone.
"He took all the fun out of it," said a grinning Wallace, who has scored a team-high seven touchdowns this season.
But now that Green, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound sophomore, finally has his first touchdown of the season out of the way, his sights are set on another fantastic finish on Friday against Mississippi State.
