Despite record, Ole Miss coach Orgeron maintains optimism

Minutes before Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron spoke before the Jackson Touchdown Club on Monday night, he adjusted his black jacket, smiled a few times for the television cameras and then gave a short synopsis of his speech to come.
There would be no hiding from the Rebels' 3-7 record. No sugarcoating a football season that so far hasn't been up to anyone's expectations.
"It's always about the truth," Orgeron said frankly. "It's about what we're doing recruiting. It's about what we lack. I'm going to answer their questions because I think it's important."
And with that, Orgeron stepped to the podium and for 25 minutes laid out the reasons Ole Miss fans have reason for optimism, along with a few reasons for this season's struggles.
