| UM football: Ole Miss vs. Arkansas Last week: Alabama defeated Ole Miss 27-24 Saturday: vs. Arkansas, 1 p.m. (Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford) TV: None Radio: UM Network (WFMN-97.3 FM) ON OFFENSE There's not a whole lot of secrets about what Arkansas tries to do on offense - run the ball down opponents' throats. The combination of Darren McFadden (822 rushing yards) and Felix Jones (673) has been awesome at times this season. McFadden has a team-leading seven touchdowns and Jones averages 10.2 yards per carry. Arkansas is not nearly as potent in the passing game, where veteran Casey Dick is completing just 51.4 percent of his passes. Neither the pass nor run was effective on Saturday in a loss to Auburn. The Hogs had just 193 total yards. ON DEFENSE Arkansas has had an up and down defensive season so far, giving up 41 points to Alabama and 42 to Kentucky in its first two SEC games. On Saturday, the unit looked much better, surrendering just nine points to Auburn. DB Jerrell Norton has proven adept at making big plays in the secondary, returning three interceptions for a combined 105 yards. Senior SS Matt Hewitt was everywhere against Auburn, recording 14 tackles and a fumble recovery. Sophomore LB Freddie Fairchild added 13 tackles. INTANGIBLES These struggling teams don't have an SEC victory between them. Ole Miss must shake off a controversial ending against Alabama while Arkansas coach Houston Nutt has been under constant scrutiny this season for numerous things, most recently his conservative play-calling.
