JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Alabama and Mississippi have faced a variety of spread offenses and shotgun formations this season.
After snapping losing streaks with victories last week over lesser opponents featuring deception-driven offenses, both teams are ready to get back to the old-fashioned basics as they search for Southeastern Conference credibility Saturday in Oxford.
"It's smash-mouth football," Alabama's Simeon Castille said of Ole Miss' offense. "They are old school where they are going to pound you and pound you and then hit you with the play-action, going deep. We are going to have to be ready to play a physical ballgame."
