OXFORD — The RVs equipped with their red Alabama flags started rolling onto campus en masse by Thursday afternoon.
By lunchtime on Friday, Jackson Avenue was packed, as was University Drive, making a car ride across Oxford an exercise in patience.
That's just the way it goes when a big-time SEC game is coming up on a Saturday. The folks around Ole Miss know the drill very well.
But during the past three seasons something even less pleasant than copious amounts of traffic has also become routine. Watching the opposing team roll out of Oxford with a win over the Rebels.
Sure, Ole Miss has won three SEC home games during the past 2 1/2 years, but those were over other struggling programs. In Year 3 of coach Ed Orgeron, the Rebels are still looking for a signature SEC victory.
