It had nothing to do with new center Thomas Eckers, who was filling in for the sidelined Corey Actis. It had nothing to do with Georgia's physical front or Ole Miss' red zone troubles. "I have to get the ball," he said simply. Adams' fumble on the Bulldogs' 1-yard line in the first half proved to be a costly mistake for Ole Miss in the 45-17 loss at Georgia on Saturday. The Rebels had taken a surprising 7-0 lead and were on the verge of adding to it when the senior tried to push his way across the goal line on a plunge play. But he didn't have the ball. It squirted out of a pile and fell to the turf, where Georgia safety C.J. Byrd fell on it to end the threat. It was the first time this season the Bulldogs stopped an opponent from scoring once it moved inside the 20-yard line. Georgia capitalized on the miscue and marched 96 yards downfield to tie the score at 7-7. The Bulldogs scored again on their next possession to take a 14-7 lead. "Turnovers really killed us," said Adams, who also threw an interception that Georgia converted into a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. "We can't let that happen. Put that on me.
