| Wallace becomes threat Rebels' speedy wide receiver demonstrates big-play skills against Florida OXFORD — Mike Wallace was incredibly antsy in the second half of Ole Miss' 30-24 loss to Florida. The receiver didn't have any catches in the first half. Only a few passes were thrown in his direction. Even more, none of them were deep balls. So if he was supposed to be the Rebels' most explosive receiver, Wallace said something needed to change quick. "(Wide receivers) coach (Hugh Freeze) had been telling me like, the whole second half, 'Just wait. It's going to come,' " he said. "I was getting kind of impatient, but I waited. So I was real happy when I saw the ball coming." Wallace turned in another highlight when he hauled in a 77-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Seth Adams in the third quarter, which helped the Rebels cut the Gators' lead to 27-24. He blew past Florida's cornerback, beat a safety and ran under the ball en route to the end zone. It was his only catch of the game but another incredible moment in what has been a remarkable start for Wallace and Ole Miss' receivers, who were regarded as one of the team's weak links entering the season.
