OXFORD — Ole Miss hasn't had much success on the field lately, but it hasn't kept the Rebels from scheduling big opponents.

Ole Miss finalized a two-year contract with Texas on Thursday, athletic director Pete Boone announced. The schools will play in Sept. 15, 2012 in Oxford and the following year in Austin.

"I think it certainly indicates where we want our program to go and be, and the kind of people we want to be able to compete with," Boone said. "I think that's the direction we should be headed. It shows the confidence we have in our program."
