Ole Miss isn't ready to name a starting quarterback for the opener at Memphis on Sept. 1, but senior Seth Adams has taken another step toward winning the job.
Coach Ed Orgeron said Adams continued to work with the first-team offense during the Rebels' first scrimmage of the preseason Saturday. The scrimmage was closed to the media and public, but Orgeron said Adams had the best day of his three quarterbacks.
"Seth is starting to pull away with the deal," Orgeron said. "He just looks like he's starting to pull away with it."
