Quarterback Jevan Snead took fans on a rollercoaster of emotions Saturday night, looking terrific in the first half before a maddening regression in the second half. It was obvious from the opening drive that the coaching staff was trying to get his confidence going, as Snead finished the night with a career-high 34 pass attempts. And in the first half, the added work appeared to help. Snead hooked up with veteran receiver Shay Hodge seven times for 115 yards and a touchdown. But in the second half, Snead threw a pair of inexplicable interceptions on passes that were too dangerous considering the Rebels had a 23-0 lead and were cruising toward a victory. Offensive coordinator Kent Austin said Snead had a great night except "for two bad throws," but as Nutt said, those are the bad plays that get teams beat in the Southeastern Conference. Next week, Alabama won't be so forgiving.
