If I understand right, he was defending demoted QB Bobby Reid, who was supposed to be this outstanding quarterback, one of the best in the Big 12. There was a ton of hype surrounding the kid, and either he couldn't handle the pressure or he just flat out wasn't as good as advertised. Anyway, this reporter wrote what is said to be a scathing criticism of the kid, and that's what prompted this. I watched the tape on ESPN, and if you listen closely at the end, you can actually hear some scattered applause from other members of the media at the press conference. That was good stuff.

I just watched the interview with Jenni - and read the article - I'm kind of perplexed - why did Gundy go off the deep end?

Because in a newspaper article they said QB was benched due to attitude not his play on the field

Reid should transfer to SC - ole Ball Coach will coddle him Yeah and the moon is made of cheese. I don't usually take the side of media but that column just doesn't seem that egregious.
