What is with you guys and hating on the rating system...

Oklahoma is No. 2 because they are arguably the best team in the nation.

Oh ya, and because they got 1,484 votes...9 more than Georgia...

They beat Washington...at washington 55-14 ...just like Georgia beat Arizona state at Arizona State...

The same amount that Georgia has...

And Georgia has played one more game...

Oklahoma's 4th, 6th, and 7th games are top 25

Re: No. 24 TCU at No. 2 Oklahoma

Well it's another workout night for the remote. Georgia vs Alabama and OU vs TCU, both on at the same time here. Georgia's gonna have their hands full with the Tide, and OU doesn't have a cake walk, according to the history between these two schools. The last time Stoops lost a home game was against TCU, and they always play the Sooners hard. But there's something about this OU team this year that's been missing in previous years. An old time, in your face, fire inside the gut desire to win as a team. It's apparent at their practices, their interviews, and their play.

But if OU wins, and the Bulldogs win, I'd look for the Dawgs to jump to #1 ahead of OU. For some reason, nobody who votes seems to give that much respect to the Sooners or the Big 12.

What would the pollsters do if Oklahoma loses to TCU? Then who would be #1 because Georgia is going to lose to Alabama. Florida lost to Ole Miss. Could it be that Alabama jumps to #1 if Oklahoma loses?

I know you'd love to see that happen, but I doubt it. They'd also have to pass LSU, Missouri and Texas. Texas just beat Arkansas 52-3, and we'll have to see what LSU and Missouri do later.

Re: No. 24 TCU at No. 2 Oklahoma

Tonight, the Sooners didn't have much of a running game, but tore TCU up passing the ball. Sam Bradford went 19/34 for 411 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Not bad for a sophomore. Final score: OU 35, TCU 10.

So since OU, LSU and Texas won, and Missouri had the week off, Bama's chances of moving into #1 aren't too good right now. But there's no doubt the Tide should move up. It'll be very interesting to see what the rankings look like this week.
