So the newly crowned Big 12 champs are headed to the Fiesta Bowl. Any predictions about who they might play?

Ah, according to Yahoo! Sports, it looks like it will be the 11-2 Sooners against unbeaten Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Predictions?

An Oklahoma/Boise State Fiest Bowl should be a fun game to watch. I'd have to go with the safe pick and go with Oklahoma though.

Well, this is Boise's chance to prove themselves on the big stage, against a major conference opponent. I think they'll be ready, and an upset isn't out of the question.

Quick Notes on the 2007 Fiesta Bowl

Oklahoma completes its tour of all four BCS bowls with a trip to Arizona and the 2007 Fiesta Bowl on January 1. The Sooners are in their fifth BCS bowl game in seven years. Since the 2000 season, OU has played in the Orange Bowl (2000 and 2004), Sugar Bowl (2003) and Rose Bowl (2002). The Sooners qualified for their eighth consecutive bowl under head coach Bob Stoops and 40th in the program's history.

Re: Sooners Fiesta Bowl bound

Sooners will like always attack with a tough hard-nosed running game and pound away at the front seven of the broncos. Though if the running game for some reason falters we always have play action open as shown in the big Xii championship game. Contrary to popular beliefs Paul Thompson can be a great passer when he's on, though it is sometimes hard for him to show this ability because of the play-calling. And the broncos beanie-knitting RB Ian Johnson will try to rack up the yards on a big tough OU front but will be pretty shut down. Then Boise will abandon the run and take solely to the air. But since they will abandon the run and call many consecutive pass plays they will be picked of numerous times later in the game. (see zac taylor)

Welcome aboard, SoonerFan, and thanks for joining us. I think Thompson has silenced a lot of critics (myself included) with his play, and Stoops has done a fantastic job coaching up this team after the lost Peterson. I swear when Peterson went down, I was sure OU's season was done, but man did they ever prove me wrong. So what do you think about Peterson? I know he's been cleared to play, but will he?

Eye on the Opponent: Boise State

Fifth-year seniors including Paul Thompson and Rufus Alexander complete their tour of all four BCS bowl games (Fiesta, Rose, Sugar, Orange). OU becomes only the second school to send its players to all four in a career (Miami accomplished it in 2000-2003). The Fiesta Bowl is the program's 40th bowl appearance overall. At 24-14-1 (.628), Oklahoma ranks No. 3 on the all-time bowl victories list.

Thanks, glad to be here. As for Peterson, there in no doubt in my mind that he will play, that kid is such a competitor its unbelievable. I don't say this just because of his talent level, I say this because from being a sooner fan and watching his every move I dont think ive ever seen a kid want to help his team this much and be on the field to contribute as badly as he does. One moment I will never forget is when earlier this season someone put a late hit on allen patrick out of bounds and AD runs up there with his sling on and everything and knocks the guy right back in bounds. This kinda shows what kind of a teammate he is.

Hard to believe this game, and all the BCS bowl games, are still so far away...

Sooners Touch Down in Phoenix

OU scored first in Arizona. The Sooners touched down at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Monday night to begin bowl preparations one day prior to Boise State. A long line of Fiesta Bowl dignitaries, unmistakable in canary yellow blazers, met the team on the tarmac. OU's players were off the 757 first. Dressed in matching crimson warm-ups, seniors Rufus Alexander, Larry Birdine and Chris Messner led the team into the crowd. Coaches, staff and families followed.

Re: Sooners Touch Down in Phoenix

Game is later tonight.

I'm going with (what I think is) the safe pick and going with Stoops and the Sooners to win by at least 10 points.
