Stoops Coach of the Year Finalist

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is one of nine finalists for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award. The honor is voted on annually by the Football Writers Association of America. Of the nine candidates, only Stoops is a previous winner. He won the Eddie in 2000, the same season his Sooners won the FWAA's Grantland Rice Trophy, symbolic of the national championship.

Re: Stoops Coach of the Year Finalist

So Bob Stoops is a coach of the year finalist. With the job he's done without his best player, Peterson, he's definitely a contender. What do you think of his chances of coming away this with award?

Re: Stoops Coach of the Year Finalist

He probably deserves it when you consider he lost his starting QB and an offensive lineman just before the season started and then his Heisman candidate RB to injury. They have played very very well, all things considered.

Shiano deserves it by a bit.

Yeah, I can see either Stoops or Schiano. Either one would be a good choice.

I wouldn't hve a problem with either guy winning it. I will puke if they give it to Lloyd Carr.
